Abstract

Partition of the Subcontinent triggered a literary text, that still is ongoing. Soon after partition, it was especially fiction (novel and short story) that brought forth the horribles stories in different angles. Later, television and cinema used this fiction for adaptation. There are many short stories and novels which have been adapted by both of the countries. The present research is a comparative study of a film and tv play based on the novel ‘Pinjer’.  The study applies the theory of Refraction and the theory of Ideological State Appratus and draws its conclusions.
