Language is a living and evolving phenomenon, constantly adapting to the social, technological, and cultural changes of its environment. Urdu, a dynamic and richly expressive language, continues to grow through the inclusion of new words derived from multiple sources, including English, Arabic, Persian, and regional languages. This research investigates the processes through which new words emerge in Urdu and how they are morphologically structured within the language system. Key factors contributing to lexical innovation include digital communication, social media, scientific advancement, and socio-political changes. The study analyzes how these words are constructed using prefixes, suffixes, and compound formations, and how they integrate into everyday speech. It also examines the sociolinguistic implications of these changes and their influence on youth, media, education, and literary expression. The findings suggest that while new words enrich Urdu and modernize its expressive capacity, careful attention must be given to maintaining linguistic balance and preserving the language’s inherent identity.
