Clash Of East And West In Iqbals Thoughts

Abstract

The Clash of East and West is one of the important issues in Iqbal’s thoughts. The popular perception is that Iqbal criticizes various features of western civilization in comparison with that of eastern civilization. But throughout the study of  Iqbals works reveals that Iqbal has a very balanced and rational approach toward this issue. He has his reservations and observations. On the concepts of western civilization about Nationalism, Political exploitation educational system, family system, and dominance of technology on human behaviors. On the other hand, he praises the advancement of knowledge in the west and other positive features. This article attempts to analyze Iqbal’s views on this contest.
