Language is a human need. Without it, neither communication is possible nor the promotion and transfer to civilization and culture is possible. Based on the university and importance of language, linguists and sociologists founded a field of knowledge, in which language is studied and researched specifically. This field of knowledge was named linguistics. In developed countries, linguistics continues to receive as much attention as other scientific and social sciences. Especially in America, a lot of work is being done on its applied aspects.Linguistics in Urdu is not very old and not enough interest has been taken in this subject. In view of its importance, the Higher Education Commission has included Linguistics in curriculum. It is necessary to teach this subject in our universities with the original spirit. Since the need and importance of linguists in other sciences and areas of life is constantly increasing. Therefore, for the understanding of the broader meaning of linguistics, it is necessary to cover all dimensions and aspects.
