Abstract

The Crusades is subject and theme of numerous fiction and nonfiction Urdu publications. This short article is an attempt to identify and catagrorize authors’ motives and intentions for writing or translation on the subject. The 15 publications used for the analysis coveres timeline from 1895 to 2014. Four major intentions identified through this study are: Motivating youth in colonial India through depicting heroic acts in the past; Relegious affinity with Al-aqsa and Palenstine; Responding to Orintalists; and to check the efforts of Christian Missionaries in the British India. All four areas are documented through authors’ openions in qoutations.
