Terminological Dilemma Of Urdu Books On Literary Genres: Comparative Analysis

Abstract

This short article is an attempt to identify definition issues in books written in Urdu language on literary terms. The article starts with defining the definition and its function as well as limitations as outlines in major current epistemological discussions. To document that nature and intensity of issue in Urdu books, the terms of Ghazal is compared in 16 famous books on the subject. Results shows that only two books provided partial definitions, while other negating this part, choose to directly embark upon explanations, parallels, evolution and surrounding debates about.
